Knudsen High Mountain Retreat

Friday afternoon we headed up into the Mirror Lake region just beyond the city of Kamas.

Jacob went straight for the lakes for some fly fishing. I started a fire for some tin-foil dinners with a balsamic rosemary marinade and luckily Ben and Olivia found us after driving up the Mirror Lake scenic byway a few times! For breakfast Brian and I ate roasted marshmallow peanut butter sandwiches due to me forgetting the jelly (they were tasty)! Then we headed out on a hike with stops at three different lakes and a fishing tutorial from the fishing expert, Jacob. He was the only one to catch any fish! 

My new favorite drink

The first time Brian and I had a sip of DRY SODA was in a restaurant in Seattle. The flavor was Kumquat. I tracked them down again at Liberty Heights Fresh in SLC and continued to sample the flavors one bottle at a time, because they are $2.50 each. Now Maestros Gelato on center street in Provo carries them and my all time favorite flavor is JUNIPER! They are very subtle flavors and aren't sweet, so not all will like them. But if you were to try one definitely try the JUNIPER.

I'M IN!

 I'VE BEEN ACCEPTED TO THIS SHOW THAT WILL EXHIBIT 35 ARTISTS FROM UTAH UNDER THE AGE OF 35. IT WILL BE AT THE FINCH LANE GALLERY IN SALT LAKE CITY SEPTEMBER 18TH - NOVEMBER 6TH.

CLOTHED

I've just submitted these to a call for entries at the Salt Lake Art Center for artists under the age of 35! I'll let you know how it goes!       ( that is Ann's dress by the way! thanks Ann. thank you jordan for sending pics as well, and to Katy for being willing to send images)

Cool Air Concert

I was checking out Erin McKeown's website to see if she would be in Utah anytime soon and saw that she was playing at the Women's Festival in Torrey Utah. She rarely comes out west so I was excited, but to increase the excitement I saw her next stop was Snowbird, UT as a part of the Cool Air FREE Concert series! Yipppeeee! It just got better. I was a little worried after attending the free concert series at the Gallivan  Center with thousands of people that don't even know who their listening to. As we rounded the corner there was a small group of people sitting on chairs listening politely to Erin! We sat three rows back among about 50 people! I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday evening! Chilly fall weather, Brian, Eli and some good music! 

Ravioli Fest!

DESSERT WAS THE BEST PART OF THE MEAL! BEN MADE TRIFLE WITH BLACKBERRIES AND PEACHES AND I ADDED HOMEMADE BLUEBERRY ICE CREAM!
