Would you consider cloth diapers?

Jordan and Katy what do you think about this diaper option? Would it save money in the long run? I know it would be better on the environment. Check out their websit and let me know your thoughts. www.bumgenius.com

I couldn't find prices, so I don't know what the difference on your budget they would make, but maybe get a couple to try--see how easy they are to wash, how durable, etc. I don't think I'd have the time or energy to clean diapers, but it is certainly noble of you to consider it. You should also check a diaper service while you're considering options.

They are around $15 dollars each depending on how many you buy.

We had a segment on emergency preparedness in my Housing class and we actually talked about cloth diapers. It would definitely be a good purchase for your hygiene storage. Check out humanitarianproducts.com under pricelist and newborn. It is only $.58. They aren't high tech like your example but hey, they claim it works nicely.

Ashley, I've seen these in action. My friend Milli uses them for her little boy. You should talk to her, you could probably get a hold of her through AnnDee.

Anyway, I've looked into it and I looking back I would have totally done it with my first. As number two and three come along the time and convenience factors become a little more precious/crucial. They are a bit bulkier, but totally doable and a great nod to the environment.

I used cloth diapers and it isn't as bad as it sounds and saves tons of money. I used throw away ones when we were out and about but to each her own.

Loads of ladies in my ward use cloth diapers--in fact, I was 'propositioned' after church once to get them for my babies. Cloth diapers today are a huge improvement from the scratchy, scary pinned ones of our infancy.

Hi Brian Baker!
My sister uses cloth diapers, so I guess it is possible. Don't think I'd be up for the extra work, but a great choice.
